A prat in a van this morning opened his door onto mine and dented it - slight scuff mark. It will polish out and then need the dent pulling (about £50 ish).
He is saying that he did not.Even though he had to wait to get out of his van whilst I got something out of the passenger side (he pulled into the space whilst I was there) and then he left before I got back to the car ... no other car parked in the space next to me after he left. I know the car was not dented before parking there (as it had been in the garage since the night before, and I had been looking at that side before it went in the garage and there was not dent). and this was the first park up of the day.
He lives on the same estate and has refused to even look at the damage saying he is not that type of bloke. (his door has that many previous wounds you cannot find a fresh one on it).
Its a company van that he and another bloke run so no transport manager and he is refusing to give me the details of the registered keeper and to top it all his house is sold and he must be moving soon !
The police will take the details and persue it as a non injury other place accident, but I guess that will end with a his word against mine and I dont want to waste the police's time or the insurances.
Any suggestions or advice. It ain't the money its the principle that people don't care about others property.

Hate to admit defeat, even on someone elses behalf, but your stuffed here , mate. I know exactly how you feel, and I'd find it difficult to walk away, but instinct says your not going to get a result from this, unfortunately!
