Are impreza wagons fast and worthy??
Did own a Impreza '97 sti type R...VERY quick, but with a dog, and child, am looking to puchase an import wagon....do they do them in sti form...if so, what year did they start from??
Are they worth it, or are they much slower??
The stealth aspect would appeal to me, especially when no baby in the car, then when i've got a rep up my **** in his 25,000 quid beemer...hehehhehe, he'll have a shock.
cheers
Matt

Yes they do an sti wagon.
Not sure what year they start on,but Ive seen v5 and 6, and my cousin is selling a v4.
Not sure about v1,2,3.
IMHO,wagons rule.
Saloons are more widely accepted for various reasons, and wagons seem to apeal to the older (wiser) folk, but Ive noticed 5dr scoobys becoming more popular recently.
Practicality is excellent, handling is (supposed to be) better, hardly any difference in performance/economy,AFAIK insurance is cheaper, and they are exactly the same mechanicly (even majority of the body is the same)
Well worth getting a wagon if your not put off by chavs taking the **** out of the back end.BTW,an sti wagon back end is better than a standard wrx/uk turbo.
Best alround scoob IMO

Well.........Did you know.......??
In the classic Impreza shape, there were more wagons produced and sold than there were saloons!!!
This is due to the popularity of the wagon in the home market of Japan.
So.....wagons do rule!!!! (and I've got one!!!!)
Are they worthy?? Are they fast????....check here.........

I own a 94 WRX Sti V1 Wagon and the number of times peeps have come up to me saying how they prefer the looks of the wagon (personal choice obviously) ....Very practical and more torque I believe, go for the Sti wagon...I was in the same dilema but I never regretted it I love the shape and the practicality..

I have an 02 Wagon Import - nothing has ever overtaken me
As for speed - the 04 UK Scoob has an official time of 6.1 secs 0-60 --> 0.2 seconds slower than the Saloon (5.9 secs). I doubt in practice most of us could notice a difference.

Like you I bought it when we got a dog. Blast my way to and from work during the week and tootle around with the family at the weekends. A truly spectacular all round car.
