Default MY05 model year updates??

I've heard (on here) that there are some updates due for the MY05. Is this true and what are they, plus will the MY05 be avaialble in september (54 plates), i.e. if i order a new WRX for september, can i stipulate that it is a MY05 spec vehicle?

See thread entitled "WRX Spec Change Rumour" which I started.

I can confirm that my dealer is taking WRX orders for September delivery with the stipulation of the model revisions

Can anyone else verify this?? My dealer said the revised models would not be available until the end of the year.

If i was to order from a dealer that said I would get a MY05, how should i go about ensuring that i could prove this if an old model turned up?

Well, if you order a MY05 then you have every right to reject an MY04 if that's what turns up! Just get the spec you ordered in writing.

Has anyone actually confirmed what the MY05 improvements are for the UK yet? I didn't think even IM knew at the moment. The Japanese STI, for example, is getting AVCS on both inlet and exhaust cams plus a new ECU, giving an increase in torque and more flexibility in mapping. It's also getting the Spec C front suspension geometry for sharper handling. Both of these seem somehow unlikely on the Euro-spec car.

Judging by previous updates to models particularly the ones made to the MY01, the MY02 cars didn't filter into the showrooms until February 2002. The difference in that case being deletion of the roof mounted aerial and a glow in the dark ignition lock. I assume the MY05 cars won't arrive on these shores until Noevember/December at the earliest with probably the first cars used as "press vehicles".
