Boy racers / Charvers behind?
when driving your scooby normally at a 30 / 60 mph does anyone ever get the odd boy racer / chaver sitting on their bumper trying to enduce a race or trying to suggest "well ive made my car to be fast you have just gone out and bought a fast car" and once youve pulled into the petrol station all you can hear when they go past is booooooarrrrrrrrrrrrr froma peco back box
any thougths on this people?

Oh yes! Plenty of pox-ridden boy racers around here in Nova/Saxo/Astra/Cavalier/Clio contraptions with hilarious-sized exhaust pipes.
Note requirement for a new bumper sticker:
"If I wanted you up my **** I would have turned gay and kissed you first, Mr."
Had a Golf GTi wanting to get into my boot last week so I dropped it into 3rd gear, hammered it away from him for 200 yards and then pulled over into a space in the left-hand lane to let him pass.
I feel no need or desire to race people in a scooby but will try to accelerate away from beasts because it's damn dangerous to have them tailing my bumper.

Get the same problem every time i drive the scoob, always corsa, novas, saxo's but recently the new trend is crappy little mopeds try it on, next on the mods list is a flamer kit, that will stop them when my flamer sets fire to there expensive front bumper. And the satisfaction of seeing a moped up in flames.

being fairly young (22 with a jap STi ) , i love it when someone gets up my **** (not litrelly!) as i can then floor it and make em look stupid in front of their mates/girlfriend. if its a quick car, all the better, had scoobs, porsche, bikes, masseratti all wanting a play and i love every minute of it, cant get enough!

Yeah i've also had "challenges" from silly boxes like a riced-up Micra with neons etc, TDi's, a boy in a Corsa trying to show off to his chav Ho.
Sometimes I take the bait when the way is clear but mostly don't bother.
Been handed my *** back by a Yamaha R6 and an Evo VIII though! Now thats gratifying!

well i always do think about booting it but most of the time dont bother, maybe tap on the brakes just so the light comes on but never had anything serious, usually its cavaliers which are now the boy racers flagship but mostly these kids are either trying to impress thier passengers or trying to see how fast your car is in my opinion!

I get it all the time up here. I just let them get on with it, and keep my speed to the track. Although I did have a bit of fun with a quite powerful Corsa the other week, let him go past then watched him torque steer all over the place at 90mph while I was at 3/4 throttle.

Get it every now and then, just the usual crap though!!! reps in mondeos/vectras especially the 2.5 tanks!! but as soon as they see FQ330 on my boot and a cloud of dust as iv floored it they normally back off!! idiots iv never driven close like that you never know whats round the next corner!!,i mean are these people blind do they really know what they are behind!! i mean a tuned evo/scoob is going to leave most things for dead so whats the point!! especially the evo!! lol couldnt resist that.....

I try not to respond (doesn't always work), and don't if it's busy. A few weeks ago I had a Ford Escort RS2000 wanting to prove something so I waited for a suitable roundabout (the next one), accelerated and went round it Scooby style. I glanced in the mirror as I straightened up to see if the Escort was following and saw his front nearside tyre nearly coming off as he almost went straight on while trying to turn right to follow me !
Strangely he seemed to give up after that.
I've also had Audi diesels try to out accelerate me (in a cloud of black smoke) MGF's and a number of the small MG Rovers ? Agree about the 2.5 Vectra's as well.
But to be honest, it's not as bad as I thought it might be when I bought the Scoob, the vast majority of cars I think might try it on don't seem to bother.

I don't get any boy racer type cars having a go at all... They know there place round here lol
Apart from the very occasional 'nicer car' e.g. TT, BMW the odd Porshe having a cheeky glance over. The only provocation I get to floor it is from the scalls on the corner shouting 'soooooooooooobyyy M8' and then the obligatory 'wooga' style fist shake too strenuous pointing down the road lol. If there only young I some times oblige Oh and from passengers
In the saxo's ect. defense. When I was there age, not that long ago, I loved scoobs and the like but had never seen one boot it which lets face it is a fantastic sight and sound. I'm sure most of them should know they don't have a chance racing but want to see/ hear the car preform? Hell, when ever I see a DB7, GT3 I'm trying to catch there eye so they know I'd like them to boot it. Because I would love to see what these cars can do. Can't blame me/ them for that but I do agree, sitting on your back bumper is not the way to do it!

420bhp but they weight about 8 tons (well 1700kgs anyway), so 240bhp/ton. My classic with 280bhp works out at 215bhp/ton so no wonder he couldn't leave me.
I always get people sat on my bumper, Calibra was the worst culprit. Silly boy was trying to impress his blonde tart - he won't do that again, I couldn't resist. Civic VTEC other day too, not much competition there either. Apart from DB7 closest was a 225 TT in the wet, but he pulled over to let me go eventually.
I didn't buy a scoob to potter around all the time, I quite enjoy a harmless 'play' with other cars and if someones up my **** then I like to loose them ASAP.

Had a rep mobile (silver vectra or mondeo - wasn't interested enough to look closely) yesterday, thought he was a hero southbound A12, but he looked the prat when his England flags blew off chasing me at 95mph!! Soon slowed him down with just 2 poles sticking out the top
