Default Whats a new WRX wagon do to the gallon? really!

Ignore my username, I'm looking at getting a new shape WRX wagon.

I do around 12k a year and would like to know honestly what you guys get from your WRX's.

I understand you don't buy a Scooby for economy, but for those days when I just want to get from A-B with no rally style drama, I'd like to pull low to mid 30's? is that possible.

thanks for any replies.

I average 27 - 29 MPG in mine (non PPP, light mods).

I've got a classic but I usually prefer to measure mine in gallons/mile

Hi,

I have a MY04 wagon, and can get mid 30s on a motorway run @ constant 70mph. But its sooo boring! Normal fun driving gives around mid 20s, real fun is < 20...

That means around £40 for 250miles of Optimax Or BP Ultimate.

Cheers

I would agree with buzz's figures - very similar to mine. My commute (roughly 100 miles round trip) is mostly motorway and A roads. Best I've had is about 36mpg, the worst about 8mpg on track!

I've got an 03 wagon with PPP. Done 27,000 miles now (eek!) and have averaged 29.3mpg over the 15-months I've had it (I have to calculate this for work as they pay for the fuel) some motorway, some pottering, some B-road.

Always on optimax.

MY04 PPP wagon as well - but I get 24/25 mpg for a mix of roads.

Always Optimax
