Do all WRX AWD Scooby's make a whining noise??? I got told that they do because of the diff????

Is this true?? Taking into account that this car is had 1 previous owner (who I know and has always looked after this car)

 

Don't think mine does. Only the turbo if I occasionally stray above 2500rpm!

 

Just been speaking to a mate with the Classic shape and he said his 'whines' coming down the box - he works for Scooby and reckons its the diff and is normal?!?!

 

I've got an 02 Bugeye saloon and it whines like a very whiney thing.

Never noticed much whining myself (MY00). Usually a sign that the diff is on the way out.

 

yeah my whines inside the cabin....


...but only when my wife is in the car

 

Mine whines in 2nd gear when lifting off the throttle .....

 

mine has a very sligt whine in 1st and 2nd but nothing to major.

Maybe its a 'Scooby' thing. I mean, normally, if the diff whines, then yes, its on its way out, but I think Scoobys sound like that?!?
