Backseat Removal [WR1]

Default Backseat Removal [WR1]

Tried to fit rear strut brace but its not a 2 minute job. How do you get the rear seats down to get access to the strut towers.??? HELP

take out the bottom part of the seat 1st, bolt in either foot well. Undo the 3 or 4 bolts on the bottom of the seat back. remove these & the seat back lifts out (be careful thou as it is hooked at the top)

after that theres a cap on top of each strut that needs to be removed, right up close to the rear screen

Be real careful when removing the back seat out through the rear doors as there are two metal "struts" at the bottom of the seat that can easily scrape the paint work over your rear mud guards as you take the seat out. If that makes sense! I had to get the two sides resprayed!

Get the torque figure and use a torque wrench. I have one at the house, if you need. New strut tops are not cheap...when you shear the bolts, while fitting the rear strut brace As said above be real carefull taking the seats out through the doors. I'll give you a shout when I get home, love to see the car in the flesh. Saw one down at Fiskens, but it was up on the ramps getting serviced several weeks ago.

Thanks Jools I have a torque wrench but not too sure of the figures reqd.
I usually go by the "that feels about right plus a quarter of a turn" method.
I'm home till about the 7th Aug. You give me a shout, It'll be run in by then.
