Unhappy It's Going Back Now

Time has come.......

I have had that many problems now got to take the sccob back and demand a refund.

The thing that finaly tipped it for me was I thought the car speedo was a wrong.

Pal came round with a road angel and its 10mph out, that is im doing what i think is 30mph and im really doing 40mph. That means it should have failed its SVA along with a few other problems.

All I can say is thank god I didn't pass a speed camera.

So a call to Trading Standards and car taken back.

I am sad to see it happen but I have been messed around too much now.

Any one else had any thing like this when they bought thier car?

Clare

Hi

Yeah its an import, my first worried was when i noticed that they had stuck a sticker over the K in KMP.

I cant even open the back door fromthe inside.

I never got a copy of areport saying it passed the SVA but did see a copy of the failed one.

All i can think is that some how they have managed to get a dodgy MOT and SVA because i cant think that it would have passed these with the problems.

I am still tryign to get the other problems fixed they have changed the tyres three times now, the first ones were worn and the second ones were far to big for the arches now they changed them to worn ones took it back and now there too big again.

The header tank still needs repalcing, thier complaing that they have no time to get it booked in.

Also i have let it go that they took out the "air flow tweaker"? that was in the car when we bought it.

The list goes on and on.

The manager is apparently in Japan so we have no one to talk to who has authority to do anything about this.

I am finding out all to late that the dealer has a reputaion for being "cowboys".

Dishartens you when I love the car esp as it is my first performance car.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems Clare....this is one of the reasons I decided to go for a genuine UK spec car. I would have liked to have went the import route but you just cannot guarantee the cars true history. I hope that this doesn't dishearten you too much as the Scooby's are great cars. I hope you get this sorted PDQ!

back door is probably the child lock

once bought a 205 1.9 gti with 12 months mot.

had it serviced and the garage said it was unsafe to drive as the front suspension was about to fail, electric problems galore and the syncro was knackered on 3 and fourth.

took it back and got a refund after threatening legal action.

Just a pointer - just in case, you don't know there is a little lever on the door jam that switches on/off the child locks to stop the door from being opened from the inside.

It's a pity that the dealer can't sort out all your problems

I've had 5 imported cars and they've all had this - it saves them from replacing the whole dash basically and most JDM version have an extra little symbol or 2 that you'd lose if they put a UK version on (be expensive to do that as well).

Not all importers are like that though, sounds like you've just had a bad time with your first experience - don't let it stop you from going to a more reputable dealer the second time like here
