Arrow WR1 RR Power Graph

Here it is, fresh from Excel
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ower_graph.jpg

The 1st run she hit 332.3bhp but this is the graph they chose to print for me.

Car is totally std (running optimax only) and run in by the book and then some.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Prosport (sounding like an acceptance speech lol). Previous to the run they did the 5000 mile power check service for me and the service is spot on (not that i was unhappy with my dealer). If anyone is looking for a new garage then I fully recommend them, especially now they are Subaru/ IM approved.

I'd also like to thank Mike and the prodrive ppl. They didn't do too bad a job at all

If you compare that graph to the STI PPP graphs offered by Prodrive on their web site, the WR1 ones look very flat between 2000-3000rpm

They don't look all that much different to me. Don't forget the scales are very different on the two graphs. For a start, the Prodrive one uses NM for the Torque whereas the ProSport one uses lb/ft. Also, on the Prodrive one, the RPM spacing is much narrower, which makes the whole chart look rather more elongated vertically.

Out of interest, I'll remake the 2 charts with similar axes to get a more useful visual comparison - trying to compensate for the current differences in my head is not leaving me much the wiser.

But the WR1 is a modified car, it doesnt have a factory map, it has a PPP map which is aftermarket, if the car were standard then it would have 265ps, so i dont know why people say that they are not modified
They are good for what they are, a PPP'd car
Now where did i put my graph

Well, perhaps it's semantics Tony? Your line of reasoning can easily be extended to say that the Sti is a modified car - it's a modified WRX. Which in turn is a modified Standard Turbo. Which is in turn a modified n/a Impreza.

The point is that they can be considered unmodified because they exist as distinct models - as does the WR1. To put it another way, you can't buy a WR1 with a different, lower spec, can you? The car is unmodified by the owners, and arrives to that specification when you order one. In that sense it is different to a STi PPP or WRX PPP, which have optional add-ons.

It is certainly a highly-tuned car, but then so is an STi. Anything over 100 BHP/litre is pretty good going. That doesn't necesarily make it 'modified' in the conventional (eg. insurance) sense.

The WR1 may be a modified STI to make it into a WR1 agreed, but when us WR1 owners say unmodified we mean standard WR1 spec ie unmodified from standard WR1 tony its a model in its own right it matters not what the manufacture does to to the base car to make it into a WR1. A WR1 is a WR1, an STI is an STI get it

Tony, I've read a lot of your posts and you're obviously a clever bloke. But thats when you're not trying to be clever

Let me put it another way. It is a standard Uk car with a standard Subaru Uk warranty. It may not mean much to you, you can probably take your car apart and put it back together in your sleep. But to someone like me (and probably whoever I sell it on to) its a very big deal.

I've never had a scooby before so I will probably enjoy my 'good for what it is' car more than you and all the 'mines faster than yours' brigade. But I wouldn't come on here and try and p!ss on anyone elses parade about it.

Just to get you all up in arms

Modified... means not factory standard, out of factory specification etc

Tony - not a wr1 owner myself, but this stuff about being aftermarket etc is a bit tiresome - as far as the BUYER is concerned, the car they are getting is a fully warrantied car that is sold as Subaru UK/IM intended, with no additional modifications.

If you want to be **** about it (which I guess you do), all UK cars are modified due to emmissions regulations. When the next version of the map comes out on a jap car, is that modified?

Nope they are not, the car comes from the factory with 265ps, this is to comply with euro emission standards but its still a factory map, mucho difference between modified and factory spec which people still aint getting, now if you want the ultimate 320ps car out of the factory then your looking at the S202, THE most powerful Impreza to come out of the factory

Brian, you may find that the book states 265ps still, you may have an infill from prodrive possably though (remembering that the book is produced by Subaru out in japan and sent with the car).

Its amazing cos people use to hate that colour (i personally liked it) though at the car show where it was first shown the lights didnt do it any favours (too orangy).
