Whenever the other half's driving the scoob, she normally gives a quick flash of the lights to other Impreza's followed by a wave if they reciprocate.

She refuses to do this to Sport drivers - No Bonnet Scoop = No Wave. This is usually followed by a phrase containing the word "Cheapskate".

Is this common? How many Turbo / WRX / STi drivers are a bit stuck up?

 

I wave and or flash lights to any Impreza - unfortunately I usually get vacant looks in return.....I don't care what the other car is GL,Sport etc - an impreza is an impreza

 

I get ignored in my inferior leggy so i think you are probably right

I'll wave as long as it's a scooby.

 

You do get some that wave, I usually find that if I flash and wave first I get a response. I think after talking to a couple of turbo owners that arn't on here most look for the bonnet scoop, I look the for the fog lights.

 

I don't wave at sports anymore cause they never wave back.

When I owned a Sport I used to wave at turbo's etc with mixed results....

Now I have an STI, most sports/GL's do not wave back.... so I tend not to bother unless I see the scoop...

Myself I usually only flash to other Impreza's - first thing I usually notice is the fog lamps.

 

I wave at a couple of sports daily to on the way to work..... and always get a wave back.

Usually old biddies in GLs round by me.

I dont want to be flamed BUT Sports and GLs are more likely to be owned by "general public" (i.e. non-enthusiasts). I don't bother waving at them now. I will gladly wave if they wave me first tho !!!

 

Same here, just get blank looks when in my Legacy Turbo - Is it a recognition thing? Or is it that our scoop just isn't big enough...

 

I wave/flash lights to other scoobies, but get blank looks back from them. Only find its the turbo/wrx/sti owners that acknowledge me...

 

I flash and wave to every impreza. I'm not a snob! I think the ones that don,t flash or wave don't actually know what day it is, let alone what they are driving.

Have to agree: no scoop = no wave!

Must admit though that i've never been waved at by a sport owner anyway, its usually some old puffin without a clue.

I do struggle to see the point of non-turbos. Its all the drawbacks without the benefits. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

 

I tend to wave at classic turbo's, WRX's and STi's and also Bugeye's but i find that people in new shaped scoobys most look at me as if i'm off my head, if they wave first i reply though!

 

 

I try to wave at most, but sometimes miss the Legacy / sports etc as they don't seem so obvious.

I'll wave if waved to! Unfortunately I'm fed up of looking like a prize pr!£k when I wave & get no response, I do usually look for a scoop however! I have to say that when I wave to new age folk round about me (Edinburgh) seem to look at me as if I'm an alien or sommat!?! Maybe there's something folk aren't telling me........

 

Wed night i saw two W1's coming up pool bank near Otley, Flash - Wave????
No responce from first.
Feeling a bit stupid ( who is this pratt waving and flashing me in his little sti )
I saw the next W1 30 seconds later, Flash - Wave????

Come on you W1 owners give us a wave go on give us one just a little one.
I try and flash and wave at every impreza and get a mixed responce from the none tubo drivers.
I like it its like the little nod you give when ridding a motorbike, it makes you feel good.
When you wave and get nothing it makes you feel like a d1ck.

 

I bought my sport cos I wanted a scooby and couldn't afford the turbo. So its not as fast, big deal. Still has great handling and AWD.

 

I own a sport, but I still do ge waves out of most Turbo's i see around. Other sports tend not to wave back.

 

I drive a sport(without a scoop) and get loads of waves by allsorts. Not as many waves by the new shape scooby's though.

 

But that's part of the fun though.
