22B Type UK
As some of you may know, my car is advertised for sale. I am sick to death of timewasters and people with no money. So heres the deal - i'm looking for some general feedback on an idea i've had. A mate of mine is going to build a website, where you can buy a ticket to win the car. Tickets will be £80, with 450 available. Anybody think this would work or would anyone think about buying a ticket? As its going to cost a lot to get the website done, im just trying to guage interest.
Thanks for any feedback.

blindin' idea i'd have a flutter, but as said already, get the legal side of it 100% sorted to avoid any grief.
how much is the car worth anyway? if all your tickets sell, 36k for the car and building a site should make a fair profit
let us know if you go ahead with it coz i'll have a ticket.
saying that, would you limit it to one ticket per person or as many as each individual wants?

Murdo - good idea - but you would need to market your idea as well - I don't think you'd get near 400 buyers on SN and other sites - have to look at some Jap car mags as well.

Never seen this done privately before, or with a used car. For the hassle involved - the legal/tax/accounting implications could be pretty horrendous - I'd be inclined to keep advertising your car through conventional channels and just be patient.
Personally I do wonder whether the 22B really still has the appeal it had a year or two ago - it's a pretty old car by now ('98, right?) and there are much more powerful and capable cars out there these days. (Type 25, anyone?)
Of course it's still a great looker, but even as a long-term enthusiast I've just spent my £27k on a Japanese-spec STI, and not a s/h 22B. It may not look as good in photos but I do believe it's the better car.
