Ordered WR1 today
I was contacted by my local dealer today saying a new WR1 had become available and was i intrested as i had contacted him previously.
So i thought about for about 3 seconds and said yes,put a deposit down over the phone and agreed a price for my 02 bug eye sti at the same time.
Just told the wife not impressed!!
Anyone got any comments on the WR1 as i have not even seen one in real life just need to know it was the right thing to do,Oh and a good divorce lawyer would be handy.

I got one I've considered other cars since having it (340mr 997 r34 etc) but its a good package it goes well i can do a bit of a family thing in it plus I've never had a car that gets as much looks...... of the the ladies NO SH*t. Ive had a few mods done to sharpen up the handling & thats it, if a t25 & cspec where uk with 3 year warranty not sure if they could be such a good all rounder, you may have differant needs ?????

Had mine about a week and the extra money just drifts into the background when you drive it, and mines not even run-in yet. You really won't regret it...don't forget it will have a better resale value at the end also.

i agree to your points lads, but deep down if mony wasnt the issue for say 3k more t25 or a lot of money less spec c both does the wr1, but like you say all rounder?
for the money and all rounder i would say the new jap import offers a little more brake as the wr1 with all the gadgets to boot!( centre diff etc...) 9k less?
wr1 is a lovely colour though!

See what you mean gatty but the resale on a Jap import isn't going to outway getting a WR1 and at the end of the day it's a souped up UK Scooby with lower insurance and three years Subaru warranty...Nuff said.

I have no regrets at all only grins. Done just over 4k now.
Moved up from 01wrx & find the performance/handling amazing.
As 4 being a head turner i'll let u find that 1 out 4 yourself, but be prepared 2 do a lot of waving 2 folk u don't know!
Don't listen 2 the folk who knock the wr1 on here there's plenty of them.

Yes it is, it's your decision as it is your money. I have had mine for 2 months, it seems to be getting better as the miles go on it. Went with M8 to Trax, set out 7.30 ish A5 all the way. He went on his 650 bike, there were not many places that he left me, it was fun all the way . Well until we hit the by-pass and I waited hour and half in the queue , whilst he parked up in about 10 mins.
Enjoy

JM,
I agree there are still differences between Uk and JDM's but there small nowadays
The T25 and the Cspec both came with 3 year warranty and UK fuel converted. IIRC
Tony
Ps I even saw a left hooker MY05STiUSDM at Trax

That said, the twin scroll turbo and heavily revised engine remains Japan-only and is still worth going the JDM route for IMHO. Given that I plan to keep the car for ages, resale doesn't really bother me (and anyone buying brand new with the intention of selling soon after has too much money to burn anyway!).
Litchfield's warranty is actually just 1 yr, with 2 more years available at extra cost through a third party.

You lucky sod! :-) You'll probably get some people saying you should have brought x, y, z and that they're not good value for money blah, blah, but you've got a great car there mate. Enjoy it!
Take the wife out for a spin and all will be forgiven.
All the best.

I personally would wait and get an 05MY STI from a UK dealer.
For that you will get the revised interior which looks classier IMHO. You can get DCCD. You dont need to have the driving lights which make the front slightly ugly. Plus there are the suspension revisions. If you want to save a packet then it will be the best bit.
MY05 STI £24,000 after discount
DCCD £ 1,000
18" wheels £ 600 after selling original ones
Suspension £ 300
PPP £ 1,900 after discount
Grand Total £27,800
No its not a limited edition, but at least you have a choice of nice colours - WR1 is not my cup of tea. Ive owned a lot of Special Edition Impreza's and dont think the WR1 will holds its value that well. If the MY05 STI has DCCD as std for 24k after discount, it will be a no brainer.

I hate car stealers!! Needless to say they won`t be getting my business! There must be a good old margin in that motor, for them to offer me at least £18,500 for the scooby then I might have played ball.
Happy motoring with the WR1, you`ll love it!!
