Lightbulb Is this a record... Sti PPP... MPG

Is this a record...

Wakefield to Corsham (Wiltshire) to Wellingborough...

Ready

STI PPP MY03

345 miles i used 48.8 litres of fuel... makes 32.12 mpg
cost £40.46

Bloody hell...!

Down side is i did the whole run at 70mph on the nail... although once i got used to it it wasn't that bad, lovely day so just sat and watched the world go by...

Wellingborough to Wakefield was a little more interesting... With brief encounters with... 54 plate Cupra R "sorry m8 but it was never going to happen" Audi S3 certainly wasn't last of the late breakers, and the scoob pulled merrily away out of the roundabout, yet another 911 C4S driver who was shocked at seeing a large scoop still atteched to his rear 500mts after the roundabout...

Result 21 mpg... MMMMmmmm all that good driving gone to waste...!

If I'd have done the trip in my Clio DCi80... it would have used 24 litres of fuel and cost £19.90... i claimed back from the cmpany £41.40 so i would have been £20 better off

I reckon your second stint at 21 mpg was pretty good if those other guys were trying!

I got 31.5 mpg out of my 93 WRX the other weekend when I went away.
Best figures I've had in 4 years of ownership.
Was taking it easy, no motorway work, all A and B roads.

What brought you to Welly (dont say the car..) - just down tut rd from me (you could have had a cuppa..)

You should get a cruise control for those long trips and see if you can get even higher fig - cruises generally give 20% improvement!
