I'm picking up my first ever Scoob

Although it won't mean much to you lot, I'm SO EXCITED. I bet I can't sleep tonight and I don't know how I'm gonna concentrate at work tomorrow.

My parents have just brought me a Subaru WRC hat back from their hols. I'm thinking of wearing that and one of my Subaru Prodrive T-Shirts when I pick it up.....or maybe not!!

Good luck with the car. I 'just' have a 97 2000 turbo too and it's great fun. If you're anywhere near Chesterfield I can thoroughly recommend ScoobyClinic for expertise/advice/work/shiny bits.

Have fun

Enjoy, but take it steady for a while until you get used to it.

I went from a Land Rover diesel (60 ish bhp) to my 1st Scoob - it felt like getting into an F1 car!

Default New Scoob

Me too, pickin' mine up about 6.30 from London, a MY00 turbo, in dark blue, can't wait...keep straying from work onto Scoobyclinic website...

Ninja exhaust, crystal light pack, etc, etc, can see this is going to be wallet damaging FUN.

Even driving through the London traffic back up the M1 maybe bearable, window down listening to the burble !!!

Thats the bit I'm worried about...the temptation to NOT stake it steady while I get used to it!

Especially when 2 chavs went psat me today racing their VTR's on the M1....I keep thinking "If I was in my scooby..."

Must r---e----s-----i----s-----t

Be careful, especially on the brakes, standard uk brakes need a very firm push from high speeds, dont get caught out, n enjoy I remember when I got my99 i was out in it every night for 2weeks when normally I would be in the pub or in front of the tv. Even coming from a heavily modified 16v clio it was a real eye opener. I think I averaged 10-15mpg in the 1st week

aah! I remember the lead up to getting my beloved scoob with sleepless nights staring at the ceiling thinking of the twisties, petrol!,insurance, trackdays, drastrips, mod s!! aaaarrrrrgggg!! can't sleep!! lol

the only downside to the first few weeks of scoob ownership was when i finally put the car in the garage and came in my face ached for hours from grinning my t*ts off!!

welcome to the madhouse!

Welcome, Great choice! I'm a relatively new owner myself and these cars are sooo much fun. I'm just about to go out for a drive for the hell of it!

Enjoy!!!

Best.

I was reminded today of why scoobies are so great. I was cruising down my street when I passed a kid who was holding up his r/c model of a WRC scooby and giving me the thumbs up! I grinned at him and then floored it giving him the full benefit of my new prodrive exhaust.

So Jowl, you must have your car by now, why no first impressions? Oh yes, you're probably still enjoying them!!!

OH MY GOD THAT WAS THE MOST FUN EVER !!

I'm still grinning. I've taken everyone I know out in the car....individually, of course!! I even confess to *cough*breaking the speed limit*cough* on one occasion

It's AMAZING. I've never had so much fun and enjoyment from any car. My mate has now informed his girlfriend they're selling the house so he can buy a scooby!

Dealer left me a quarter of a tank...so I was running on Vapor when I filled up with Optimax today!

I'm sure I'll write more later....just need to calm down a bit first as I'm still on such a high! Even taking the other half to Meadowhell as an excuse to drive it.

Everything you guys said about the first few weeks of ownership is bang on. WHAT A THRILL.

Oh, and I've waved at 6 scoobies and recieved 4 waves back

See you later people.....in about a fortnight probably

(This is more exciting than Christmas)
