Default What should I pay for a new STi (05 model) ?

I am thinking of buying a new Impreza STi but have been told that the price has gone up £1000 to £25,995.
Is this true and if so what should I aim to pay ?

Cheers.

Yep, UK sourced STI's have gone up to 26K.

But, you can easily get hold of a parallel import from a number of UK based import dealers for around 20K!

Contrary to popular belief, these cars are 99% identical to UK cars except for:

- Tracker
- Cat 1 Alarm
- Locking wheel nuts
- PPP possibly not available

Also, contrary to popular belief Euro imports are now covered by Subaru's 3 year Pan European Warranty which is endorsed by the country of origin.

Have fun.

Thanks for the info, but to be honest I have made my mind up that I don't want an import and I am looking for a UK car. How much should I pay for a UK car ?

Thanks.

Default Do you play poker?

Prepare yourself for a battle. IM have reduced the margins on STi's, the only bonus dealers can make is based on volume and there is a backlog of 04 model cars available, your local dealer should now be advertising £1000 off all stock models.
Dealers have been sent 04 cars to sell, and told when they have gone IM will then fullfil any outstanding 05 orders.

It is going to be a question of finding several dealers who are prepared to play each other off against one another.

Good Luck!

For an 05 car, probably under a grand. If you go for an 04 one you should get 2-3 thousand off the list price.

26k for a Scoob? You've got to be taking the ****! Whole point of them is theyre fast and cheap. How much does the base Mitsi EVO come in at? Cant be much more than 26k and I know which I'd rather have!

Bet the EVO would hold it money better too.

Probably not unless its a ltd edition.

I looked into buying an Evo 8 a month or two back, 2nd hand prices were NOT holding up well at all. Some of the guys on the Lancer forum had their cars up for sale for weeks without a bite, kind of put me off!

Demand for the EVO 6 TME's on the other hand was really strong.
