Knockhill......This may get your goat......

I missed an apparant great weekend at Knockhill (22/23 July)and i'm kicking myself, cause a number of people rang me up saying I really should have been there, telling me how good it was.
Ah well, can't be everywhere i suppose.
Anyway I heard a certain person owning a certain Saxo blew away everything on the track apart from one P1 Impreza which had ( allegedly )400+ BHP.
Therefore to those that were there this weekend with their Impreza's and EVO's etc, were you all humbled by a Saxo ? or was I listening to a load of bull?
And was there a tuned up P1 there ?

I think someone is winding you up. I was there all Saturday and there were NO Saxo's on the track, in fact there wasn't anything outstanding-speed wise. And that includes all the P1's. Don't know about Sunday, as I was too busy replacing tyres and brake pads.

As far as I know it was Sunday.
I'll give the guy credit where credits due.......
He has spent a lot of money on it......
It is a lot quicker than standard with the mods he's done......
It has been stripped down though.....
It does run a different ECU.....
He has a modified gearbox, clutch fitted.....
He reckons on 198BHP at the wheels........
He also reckons lots more after fitting his throttle bodies.......
He has bags of confidence......
BUT..........
It's still a Saxo.......
You all know what i'm thinking............

Maddog,
I was there on Sunday and from what I can remember the Saxo in question seemed quite quick for a Saxo. And it was stripped out, with no back seats etc. But it wasn't keeping up with any of the Scoobs.

Hmmm,
I saw the Saxo which was all stripped out, and looked very modified. I wasn't on the track at the same time, but it didn't seem to be any quicker than some of the other cars there.
When I left, there wasn't a P1 present, and certainly not one with 400bhp (don't think there is such a thing!).

Thanx guys
I’ve met the guy that owns the Saxo and he has spent a lot of money with companies tuning it, but when he told me there was only one car that could beat him and it was a 400+ BHP P1, I was sure his nose got longer!
He did say he wasn’t using road tyres on the track, so I wondered if this was the advantage along with the mods and stripped out interior.
He’s claiming 198 BHP at the wheels on his car (but don’t recall any mention of rolling roads) and with the new throttle bodies he’s having fitted, he reckons well over 200.
What sort of flywheel figure does that relate to?
Don’t think it’s supercharged, though I might be wrong. If it is, I could believe the power claims, but don’t recall him mentioning it (talked about everything else though!)
Anybody know of any other powerful Saxo?
I thought it was 555 SUB he was talking about regards big BHP, but he said it was a P1. Since I am looking for more power from my car, i was interested in finding out what this owner had done to his.
