Just bought a set of these in a group buy on here and took them to my
local tyre fitter.
They said it would only take an hour,so after 3 hrs i was getting worried.
I then went into the workshop to see the fitters standing around my wheels and
i thought theyve scratched them.Just then the manager came over and said
they were having trouble because the wheels had heavy spots and were hard to
balance.
He then said one in particular needed alot of weight adding and he thought they were of poor quality
He said they dont normally add more than 50 grams to a wheel but the worst one needed 125 grams. He said to see how they go but recommened i take them back to the dealer.
I dont know what to do with them now, they dont vibrate but do drone a bit.
Anyone else had this said about there prodrive wheels?

it is a lot of weight but sometimes you do get that, the wheels may have a heavy spot and the tyres may have a heavy spot and if they are both in the same spot then alot of weight is needed but it doesnt meen they are faulty, the best way to cure this is to get them to spin the tyre 180 degree on the rim and this may help or take it to somewhere who know there stuff and get them to spin the wheel up with no tyre to find the heavy spot of the rim and mark it and then balance rim on own then add the tyre, balance up again find heavy spot of tyre/rim together mark on tyre the heavy spot and then take tyre of and counteract the two heavy spots so they are opposite each other and voila, bobs your uncle and not many ugly balance weights on nice new rims

I'd ring your dealer if you're on good terms with them and ask which tyre fitters they use, then take them there to be checked.
3 hours to fit 4 tyres onto wheels and fit them onto the car sounds OTT to me.
I bet they did them up with an air gun as well?
