Saw a post on this and it looks the dogz, my mate was looking at getting a 05 JDM STi but after seeing this I think he should change direction. What I need to know is do you get the toys, DCCD, Leccy Windows/Mirrors etc or is a a completely stripped out Banzai Warrior ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

You get pretty much the same as any Spec C, no central locking, no electric anything, no manual control for the mirrors (you have to do it outside of the car!), no boot lining, no sound proofing, acutually you dont get alot, well you get nothing really except the following, ABS with EBD, quick rack steering and the A-DCCD, a smaller 50ltr fuel tank (60 normally) and a 12ltr water intercooler spray tank in the boot, thats it ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Oh you do get a roof vent and oil cooler as standard though![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

What i will put in is that not many people can live with these cars, they are probably the harshest impreza you can get, and if its all about speed, then i wouldnt just go for one just on that principle. Being a Spec C owner, i can definately say that it can be a difficult car to live with, and not a step to be taken lightly, otherwise your mate could be throwing quite a bit of cash down the drain.....
I would also suggest that if its the main car, not to buy one, this is a second car, not a main one (though i seem to be putting some nice miles on mine
)

Cheers Tony, he thought the Spec C was a bit too hardcore so hence he was going to get a Standard JDM STi so looks like this might be a bridge way too far ![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
It is his second car and luckily he is a no smoker

Tony,
Don't forget hearing every single loose stone being flicked onto the unprotected wheel arches.
I drove the Spec 'C' and decided on the 'GL' with all the gubbins
If you don't know what a GL is, it is basically an JDM STi.
Damian.

There's definitely some confusion here. I posted a translation of the full spec at http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=372140
So, the Spec C Type RA does have electric mirrors, automatic aircon and a few other toys that aren't on the old Spec C. It looks more like a permanent replacement for the Spec C WR-Limited to me than a (more) stripped out performance machine.

RA is same as Wr-Ltd except for adjustable suspension, different wheels and you can get it in red, as far as I can see on Subaru JP.
see below -few other bits and bobs, front lip, corner bumpers, etc

hmm, I'm getting well confused. I would have thought the RA would be the hardest of the bunch with no electric goodies. Now some people are saying it is like the WR with elec windows, mirrors, climate control etc.
Looks like we need a confirmation from Ian or someone in the know

Sorry Tony, I really think you've got the wrong end of the stick here.
Unless there's a cache somewhere that means I keep getting an out of date version of his site, there is no mention whatsoever on Litchfield's site of the Spec C Type RA. The link you've posted talks about the STI, the STI Spec C and the STI Spec C WR-Limited.
The Spec C Type RA is new and it's described at http://www.subaru-sti.co.jp/spec_c_RA/02/01/index.html - where you can clearly see pictures of the electric folding mirrors and the climate control.

So am I right in thinking that the new RA now comes with air con & elec windows and is *lighter* than the previous stripped out Spec C which didn't have these?
What have they removed to decrease the weight?

Nope ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
My cars full name (being an MY03) is WRX STI type RA Spec C, they are all RA's, they dropped the RA on the 2003/04 cars on the badging, ill find the bit on the subaru japan site which tells you about the WR version![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

This is the 2004 limited Spec C, a 2005 Model car ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
http://www.subaru-sti.co.jp/parts/te.../spec_c/1.html
http://www.subaru-sti.co.jp (shows you the new models)
What that other page probably is, is the optional extras available for the Spec C, central locking, electric folding mirrors, different alloys etc, because if you look at it, why bring out a WR version?
I should also point out there there have always been 2 versions of the Spec C, the 16 inch version and the 17 inch version.

Tony,
Your first link is to the Spec C WR-Limited. That car was a limited edition and the production run has now finished.
It's been replaced by the Spec C Type RA, described in my link (above).
The new Spec C Type RA is NOT on Litchfield's site. I spoke to Iain a couple of hours ago and asked!
