Yeah would like to get around 9000 but put it on auto trader and didnt even get a call have dropped it right down to 7750 now and am getting more interest in it but still no people actually looking at car just timewasters.
I didnt think it would be this hard to sell my Impreza it's starting to depress me

That is it pure and simple, it doesn't matter how nice the thing looks, but mileage and age are the two biggest selling points.
I know that modern day engines are built for 200,000 miles but if I were looking for a Classic I wouldn't want to fork out £8k on a car that could potentially start suffering from expensive engine problems. This is *NOT* aimed at your car Matt before you start slagging me off just a general moan about 2nd hand performance car buyers mentality.
Good luck matey, someone will buy it but probably after Crimbo now

Have to agree with Danny, the problem will always be its age and mileage added to the fact there are 3 versions after it now that are much better quality wise and are not far off your £9k valuation.
MY01 bugeyes can be had for £8.5-£10k with less mileage.
I know its not what you want to hear but its a buyers market.

I'd say that you should get a buyer at £7500 (which is nearly where you are) so keep
persisting and change the advert around if needed.
I also don't think that 9k is realistic in this market as people have cars to chose from with potentially lower miles. The guides are just that I'm afraid. May even be worth you seeing what deals you can do on something newer - but don't get hung up on the part-ex price, think about the money needed to change.
eg. Neighbour with 01 Forester was bid £7500 pretty consistently for his car (with 28k on it). Traded in for a new right-spec Xtrail SVE Diesel (gets good press) and in effect got £3k off the XTrail (or a grand more for the Forester and £2k off the Xtrail !)

I no mileage and age is a big factor I would expect to get around 7000 - 7500 for it, have put it on auto trader and it seems to be the lowest priced classic of that age if you ignore wagons.
Would like to sell it before xmas but think it may be after xmas before I sell it
