Blob eye STI, engine reliability

I'm sure a few have gone bang, the same as any other cars engine. Three things seem to help prevent it though. 5000 mile Oil changes, not doing sustained high(>120mph) speeds for prolonged periods of time, and lastly making sure your engine is properly warmed up and allowed to cool.

Mines STi7 is nearly 3 years 23K miles with PPP 300bhp, Warranty and reliable How many other manufactors can say that
As Neil said above Good Fuel, proper warming up and down 6 monthly Oil changes will help loads I do give my Engine some use, hardly any of it was on Motorway use
All Engines are mechanical therefore some will fail but their definately not chocolate Engines IMHO

Are you talking standard engines or ones that have been messed with?
As soon as you start messing with the engine you increase the chance of the engine problems IMHO.
Play safe, get a PPP and be happy.
