For UKs yes, IM or Subaru now supply the later smaller filter for Classics. I think also fits Forester, don't know about JDM but would assume the same. If not,I'm sure someone will pop by and comment.
as above...............all Suabru's now use the smaller style (half price) filter, was designed for new-age cars and then retro-fitted to classics............
