Default WRX MY05 - PPP - has anyone ordered/received one?

Just wondering if anyone on here has actually ordered one (and therefore knows how long it takes to receive the kit) or ordered and actually had one fitted? There seems to be some talk of not knowing when they are avaialable so wondered if anyone had actually gone this route as yet? Thanks

Andy

Picked up my 05 WRX SL earlier this week, the PPP is supposed to be fitted at the 1000 service which will probably be end of next week or so. Dealer said that there were no problems.

Thanks Gareth, just ordered mine and will be in stock and booked to be fitted next Friday 19th (1 week) - shorter than I thought but all good. And got the SIDC discount of 10% which helps. Andy

Yes it can be but it is generally regarded as better to get fitted at the 1000 first service.

Yes I know, its the 4th I've bought from them - the PPP (according to Prodrive) would be around 10-14 days, so I took delivery of the car there and then and have the PPP done at the 1000 service

Prodrive are still working on the 05 map for the PPP. But it should be ready soon as there are no major changes between 04 and 05.

Default 05 WRX PPP Nov 30th

Hello mate,

I have ordered my 05 wrx ppp - to be delivered on November 30th. I have ordered the ppp fitted from new - hope this will be okay. Do you know whether the ppp is available already. My dealer said 30th was the release date - think he might be spouting.

cheers

I would strongly recommend that you don't get the PPP fitted from the outset. I did this a couple of years ago on my previous car and regretted it bitterly. Have fun with it for 5 to 10K and get to know it. Get the PPP once you are starting to get bored. Damn site cheaper than buying an STi PPP which is what I had to do!

I'd agree with that. You'll appreciate the PPP more after a couple of 'K' of standard driving.

Remember you always want more!

I agree, get used to the standard set-up first - Whilst saving up/persuading wife I have to spend more cash
the STI is reasonable for a while, plus may as well get some life from those original parts over winter, that are going be dumped or live in the garage for the next ten years.

Dealer has said the PPP takes 3-4 days to come in as he's just ordered one and it comes early next week. Interesting that some say it's still be being developed - who knows eh???

Yep, confusion as always ...my dealer is going to check the situation first thing Monday, and I've also asked him to confirm that the PPP is for an 05 WRX, and not the 04 model, hopefully that will clarify it, although probably not

Gareth - exactly what I was going to do. confusion as you say... maybe it's best to talk to Prodrive directly and ask if they have done it yet. Last thing I (or anyone) wants is some misled dealer getting in a kit for an 04 and fitting it to an 05 without having a clue regarding the difference - and how would we ever know. Think it best to check - maybe talk on Monday and see what the dealers are saying?

No probs m8, I'll let you know what my dealer says....they won't pi$$ me about, I've spent too much with them over the years , but I get the feeling that they aren't always told the full story either.

I had an email from Mike Wood last tuesday confirming that they were still working on the 05 map. He didn't anticipate it taking very long as there were no major internal changes.

Contact him at Prodrive or you can try on here. I would never trust a dealer as most of them dont really know what they're are talking about when it comes to the PPP.

As someone said, you dont want them trying to fit an 04 PPP to an 05 car. It sounds unlikely but there are some dopey dealers out there.
