Question reasonably urgent!!

hi all
picked up my import sti3 yesterday...
number plate fell of today...so bought a new one at halfords....
anyone any idea how to put the thing on the holes in the fixing brackets are quite large...do i need to get a sticker number plate done for the front sill...and are these legal?????
think the dealer stuck it on...now i sell tapes for a living and i know the surface area is to small to get any sort of bond.....
needs a permanent fixing any ideas folks????

Just a though, the double sided pads that you can get for number plates are VERY strong and are about 2-3 mm thick (could be doubled up?).

Need to be straight before you make contact as they can't be repositioned!
