Default MPG ?

got a wrx sti 53 plate
wife uses it in week and does around 100 to half a tank
i use it weekend and do 50 miles, use the last half a tank

so around 150miles to a tank ?
Is this right?
thats £42 worth of shell optimax for 150 miles.
did get 170 miles one week, but i was driving like a nun.

what does everyone else normally get to a full tank.
Cheers

I thought i should get 33mpg if driven like a nun, and cruise at 56mph?
£42 = around 41 litres @90pl
so nearly 4.5l per gallon = 9 gallons to a tank
155miles to a tank = 155/9 = 17mpg ????
somethink tells me this aint running right.
wife does around 20miles per day. and she dosent drive fast. scares her !
could i take to scooby dealer and ask to look at it?

I would have thought that you'd get at least low twenty something mpg from an sti when just milling about, but then again, if the 20 miles per day is lots of start stop that may go some way to explaining it ?

My WR1 does about 17-18 mpg if it's being used for short runs with a lot of stop start driving. 24mpg if i'm on a run.

I get about 180-200 miles to a tank, which is about £42. Worked it out at something like 19mpg. Most of that is in London, so it's stop-start low speed stuff (with the occasional sprint ). If you get more chance to put your foot down than me, I reckon 150 miles is about right. ('03 Sti UK)

I managed 355 easily with 2.5 gallons left in the tank (the warning light was not on).

That's 33.3MPG (or 440 miles per tank until it runs dry!).
