Default Price for Prodrive springs inc fitting?

I've had a quote for supplying and fitting the above for about 440 pounds. Is this about right for a Subaru dealer?

No I paid about £200.00 or £250.00. That was everything including springs and fitting.

I paid £300 from a subaru dealer inc the necessary geo changes.

The ride height is lower, but not by much - only a few centimetres iirc. It lowers the car "just enough".

Well Subaru's website quote 225 but that does not include fitting. If Monty's are doing them for 275, that's only 50 pounds labour. In this day and age, that's very very cheap.

At AJ Whites in Blackburn, but I quoted the price to John Wildings in Kendel and they matched it when I bought my STi from there in May.

Would it not be better to buy after market springs (Eibach) as they are cheaper????

compshack - do you reckon Wildings gave you a good price because you got the car from them? What did you do about the geometry?

I thought the Prodrive springs were just rebadged Eibachs anyway ? AFAIK it lowers the ride height by 25mm

I just stuck to the Prodrive ones purely because, come trade in time, the dealer will recognise them. Anything modded on the car thats is not Prodrive badged the dealer will simply completely dismiss.

The Dealer says (and i struggle to disagree) that Prodrive branded stuff will prop up residual values.

I've been thinking along same lines as you merlin - 1 of the reasons I went for an STI filter.

as if the dealer would give you more money for modded springs and a air filter he would reduce the the price if anything ppp is the only mod you get a few bucks back for and then its only a few

Not rebadged Eibachs But if made by Eibachs, they will be made to Prodrives Specs and not 'Eibachs Impreza' spec's . They also include Front bumpstops IIRC

There should be on < MY04 a set for WRX and set for the STi. There are differences in Front end weights. not certain of the difference on MY05 models.

On my STi02 Prodrive springs lowered mine by about 22mm front and 26mm rear IIRC

Here are some pics to compare but may differ to newer models

Gatwick Subaru have quoted me just under £400 for springs, labour and geo set-up. (this included 10% SIDC discount)

£250 from Montys....... all in !!! I thought £250 was the cost of the springs anyway.

Merlin71.... where did you get it done for £300?

WRX or STi? I think there is a difference in price for the 2, even though they are both Prodrive springs.

I've been thinking about getting the Prodrive springs, but I'm worried about ride quality. The roads where I live (S.London) are pretty bad, and I must be getting old 'cause sometimes it's just too painful to go fast! On the other hand I've heard these springs actually improve the ride - make it a bit less "knobbly". Any views?

Had the same concerns before I had them fitted (bad roads round here as well), but had them (on MY04 WRX) about 3 weeks ago and would thoroughly recommend them. The car seems more planted is a bit firmer but does'nt float or wallow like it did.
Although looks weren't the main consideration they do also make the car look alot better as well with about 1 inch drop. Am well pleased and wouldn't want to go back to standard.
