Default Should I really bother with performance mods?

I've been agonizing over this for a while now. Car current spec is:-

MY00
17" wheels
decat exhuast, K&N Panel, HKS SSQV, TEK2, Samcos
Braided brake hoses but standard discs/pads
STI rear lights, PIAA driving lights
Colour coded sills and STI6 style lip spoiler
lots of guages, etc.

Looks wise the car is how I want it. Gone off big spoilers so is just right for me.

What I can't decide is if I should bother spending money on things like upgrading the brakes or the suspension or making it faster etc.

I don't have far to travel during the week (walk to work in summer) and usually have my daughter with me. The only real time it gets any sort of work out is Sundays on my way to another costly hobby of mine (RC car racing)

Of course the fitment of bigger brakes or different suspension will improve the cars ability but I'm not sure if its just buying for the sake rather than an actual need. Theres also the style issue, big brakes filling 17s wheels look good and lowering the car give it a much more agressive look about it.

Just dunno?!

After spending in excess of £12k on mine in two years mate I wish I hadn't have bothered to be honest.

Yes its quick and yes it handles and looks really well but where the hell do you stop. Mine was only meant to be minor mods but you just get carried away. Never get anything back although I know I'll only do the same again on the next car................Secret there will be to buy something mildly modded in the first place.

Lavish the cash on your little princess mate. (Daughter not the car).

Good luck.

Had the same thoughts /before/ I started modding. I love my car just as it is - totally standard :-)
