Default Warranties

I am about to order my import WRX (uk spec) but a main dealer has told me I could have problems with the warranty. He's says with it being an import, not all components are covered. He said in the event of me having a problem with the car, the warranty might not cover the failed component. He said the garage would have to get in contact with Subaru UK to find out the origin of the car as different components are excluded from the warranty dependant on the country of origin. Is this correct? Therefore if I was unlucky and had a major bottom end failure that the car might not be covered hence I could end up having to foot a large bill. Is this something I should be worried and has anyone had any experiences of this. I am not intending to make an modifications therefore I want my 3 year warranty not to be invalid.

This is just your stealer trying to frighten you into buyig a car from him!

As long as the car is UK spec and it's registred with IM (subaru UK), which is easy and no problem at all, you won't have a problem.

I get a bit sick of the horror stories you hear on this subject all of which are sour grapes!

My advice is go ahead and save your self aroud £3000, you won't regret it!

I've done this with my last 2 new cars and saved lots of money without any problems. I even got top book on my last EU import selling it to a main dealer!

Cheers

Jason
