Coming home from work tonight I saw a silver Fiat Punto parked facing the oncoming traffic with a copper inside, on the roof was some kind of device (possibly reading reg plates?). Further down the road were 3 patrol cars each one had pulled someone. So, if you're passing through Shipley watch out for silver Puntos!!

Saw a similar setup in Bradford tonight, and have seen before near my house. I believe the camera is a number plate reader for bringing in untaxed (and therefore probably uninsured, driver banned etc) cars.
They did one night in each direction on a main road near my house, and each morning after there were sh1theaps clamped at the side of the road with "police aware" stickers on - off to the crusher with any luck!

Our local Shell garage had a plod car onsite for 3-4 nights on the trot because of these. Apparantly, the Bradford ******* who are wanted for any old crime, tend not to pay for their petrol
and since these ANPR sessions have begun, they now use Leeds garages for their cutprice wares

I saw two cop cars (marked) parked side by side on canal road last night, 200m up the road another cop car with flashing lights had a jag S-type pulled up. I got to the lights (travelling towards Shipley) and to the right a 4x4 cop car was parked up with the lights going. I tought they must be just doing random stops for breathalising coming up to xmas or something. I can't see a guy driving an S type not bothering to tax it.
