Type Uk sti with ppp or JDM sti8
Im stuck between the 2, whats the main differences and whats the best. I have about 20k to spend on a nice one, but want to make sure I have made the right choice. Is there much power difference between the 2? Is it correct the JDM sti8 revs higher, please enlighten me.

Absolutely no idea what a UK STi with PPP is like.
What I can say is that my JDM 03STi8 truly zings.
I believe the gearing is slightly shorter ??
It's FUN with a capital F, U and N straight out of the box.
It's nervous, tramlines like a bugger on poor surfaces but it's exciting and involving.
Can recommend it fully.
Big downer may be fuel,. but you know about that.

I would be careful about warranties. The Type UK PPP will have the 3 year warranty which is relatively bomb proof subject to the dealer's efforts on your part. However the JDM falls outside the UK warranty and is therefore a more specialist car. Spending £20k I know which warranty I would prefer....
Try them both and see if there is much difference for you. Are you looking for creature comforts to ease normal commuting with the occasional blast or are you out evry night doing those rally stages in Wales where DCCD might be relevant?

i was in the same boat about a month back, i took the uk car out and found it disapointing. i then tried the jdm and what a different car it is. apart the the stronger engine you also get all the little extra in the car (defi dials, folding mirrors, rear wiper etc etc)
go try them both and think if you would be modding? if it is a yes how good would a uk warranty be?

Shorter gearing on the JDM car means that its quicker in 5th and 6th (and 4th, 3rd and 2nd )
You will need either a remap or a knocklink and a few bottles of octane booster on the JDM car though, but for me, the JDM car wins hands down

I've tried two UK sti's neither measured up to my P1. Then i tried a JDM Spec C ltd - what a car! no understeer just oversteer. After a remap and chasis set up by TSL it was even better. There are a few down sides with this model though - hard suspension, increased road noise.
