Default Newbie advice please!!

Newbie here looking for a bit of help/advice please.
Can I get a clean, unmodified (don't mind sports exhaust) UK car with sensible miles for between £7.5 and £10K?
Looking for a car to run during the winter months and take me on a couple of long journeys into europe, then sell again in the summer.
What should I look out for?
Obviously will want to try and avoid any large service bills but know that with cars of this age this will be a possibility.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

If complaints about depreciation on here are anything to go on, yes.
Wagon might be a good idea as often more mature owners!
Usual things to watch for esp. accident. HPI of course. Professional inspection if you're not clued up.
Do search on here, lots of info.
Full service history dealer or specialist. If private judge owner.
Good luck.
Subaru Assist is only £75 year incl. European cover btw.

You should get a tidy 99-2000 wagon for that. Had a mate selling his bog standard my99 uk with 70k on the clock for 8 thousand.

I bought a MY99 turbo wagon, UK car a month ago with 60,000 miles on it for £6900. If you look you will find cheaper, I have since seen them for around £6000. There seem to be a lot of desperate sellers!

Thanks all for your replies. Looks like the best thing to do is start checking all the classifieds!
