Would be nice to see a factory aprroved 400bhp car. a US 2.5 STi puts out 300bhp by default and that is on 91RON fuel (ok the fuel out here is different from the UK), and the type 25 puts out, I think 356, and I would have thought that is a 'conservative' map, so a bit of remapping, induction kit and more free flowing exhaust might get you to 400. The same may also be possible on a 2.0 JDM STi. I'm not sure how much Bob Rawle has out of his STi, but it's over 320 with fairly minimal mods (have a peek at his thread in 'projects' for exact details)
Thing is, what would be the cost of the 400 bhp scooby? If I recall the Lancer is aprox 45 - 47 grand, a hell of a lot for what it is.

Plus - did you see the whole programme?
JC ended up saying that, even though an "on the boil" evo 400 was pretty much a match for a Murci, "off boil", it was dismal.
As devoted as I am to turbo'd four-pot Japanese AWD saloons, they ain't no match for Italy's finest.
[chav]A Subaru is what I drive until I can afford a Ferrari.[/chav]
