Default Fuel guage on 03 sti

as above.
i had just put in £43 optimax, around 50odd litres
the fuel guage is only showing half full.
have opened cap again, given it a good boot, but it just stays at half way line
any idea's?
I have zero'd the mileage so as i can see if it does its normal 155 odd miles.
then will take to scoobaru garage and get fixed under warrenty.
I just hope they dont give me one of those dahi****su square oldfolk mobiles to run round in while they fix it.
Showells in lye/stourbridge !

There are two sensors in the tank, one is fecked. If it doesn't correct itself, get it booked in. Once the fuel falls below half the needle will move down.

over about 10 days....... alot of cold driving as i use it to get to the train station every morning & home at night, upset if i don't get 200 miles to a tank. I have ppp not sure if that would actually help fuel consumption or make it worse.

Tiredeyes - Mine did this once too. After a while (about quarter of a tank) it moved up and has been fine ever since. I too filled it right up to the brim....I think it is just a bit of a problem they have if you fill the tank to the absolute max. Its never done it since.

cheers 4 feedback, i will leave it untill i fill up again.
if it shows only half again i will book it in.
i will get them to have a look at fuel consumption,
as the wife drives it for around 15 miles a day, then i use it at weekend, but i dont cane it everywhere.
it managed 144 miles to £43 pounds worht of optimax.
i am thinking this is not right?
its only dun 14K miles 53 plate.
and the wife dont cane it either. she has to wear larger "with wings" when she does, as she pees her thongs !
