Default Phase 1 cars and High level brake lights

Anybody know if phase 1 cars came with high level brake lights??? I'm about to fit a mid level spoiler, and I'm not particularly looking forward to drilling a hole in my boot lid.

Cheers
Simon

Simon,

As far as I am aware the mid level spoiler uses the same 3 mounting points on the boot as the low level one, and there is a seperate hole for the cable for the brake light to run through.

Guess I'll find out tomorrow. I do have the 3 mounting holes, but not sure about the wiring loom hole.

I am pretty sure Ian is right. I am trying to remember what mine was like. (I had the phase 1 low level).

Phase 1 low low level spoiler had a brake light and hole for the wire in the boot lid. Definately .

Well, the hole was there as predicted. Now all I have to wire in the brake light. Can I just take a tap off the rear cluster onto the spoiler light?

Fitted perfectly fist time although the bolts came out with the nuts on my low level as they were rusted together, nothing 5 mins in the cooker flame and a pair of mole grips didn't sort out though!!!!

As for the clinic, I new it was going to be an expensive trip, had a good chat with them and its going to be watch this space!!! I was there 35 mins and managed to spend £100 with out even blinking and I didn't have any work done!!! Did get a coffee and a guided tour though!!!

I think you might find a plug under the parcel shelf for the brake light wiring, the one that goes th=o the bootlid light is actually an extension of the one that used to be there for the cars that had a brake light on the parcel shelf!!
