Car Polishers - Any Good?
The wife was asking if there were any bits for the car for crimbo?
So after the 2.5l engine, AP brake kit etc..
, I suggested that an electric polisher might save me a bit of time and aching elbows.
Are they any good or worth the money (I use Meguirs polish BTW
)

Cheap ones NO.(ie under £100)
They create swirls and do more harm than good.
(Its my 2nd job)
Seen the results on other cars.. honestly just buy lots of Microfibre cloths and some more poilsh etc.

I've just bought my dad one for christmas (he asked for it, £20 from index)
so lets see if he wrecks his VW Nova with it. Though I suppose it may be different on a fibreglass body.

If u get a good one that uses proper sponge buffing heads they are great. I got one from my auto paint supplier about 5 yrs ago and its been fantastic , its like a big angle grinder but had adjustable speed controll, cost about 150 and the fareclar buffing heads are about 6 each, i use the super fine g10 fareclar finishing compound with it and I get no swirls at all (just need to use plenty of soapy water while buffing) . One of the best car accessories ive ever bought, does need a bit of practice to get good results but once youve got the technique right youll get a finish like glass.

have to agree - i got one that was under a 100 quid (by a fair way!!) and no way as good as the old fasioned elbow grease way ( or getting the mrs to do it! 
)
