Angry Help and Advice ASAP please

Hi,

Just popped round to my parents house and now I'm stuck. Went outside to get into my car and the Key-Fob has stopped working. I have tried changing the battery with an other fob but stilll nothing. What Next??

Cheers Fellas

As far as I know, alarms are designed so as not to sound all night. It's a legal requirement. I believe they're only allowed to sound for something like a couple of minutes.

depending on model there is a keypad override where you put your 4 digit code in which switches off alarm, either that or call subaru assistance it depends on what alarm you have in car standard subaru clifford etc

If it's a new age car the key pad will be located above the bonnet release.

The keypad may be in what was the coin store box to the right of the steering wheel slightly down the dash.

It's sometimes mobile phone masts nearby that stop keyfobs working.

If it's an older Clifford it may have the valet rocker type switch somewhere. Say your code is 1234 you would get in with the alarm sounding and turn the ignition to on then....

Switch forward once then back
Switch forward twice then back
Switch forward three times then back....etc

you need to know your code though, if you don't know it there is a blurb in the manual I will PM you about what it could be but, I'm not advertising it!!

Let me know if you need it.

If you're still stuck, this is a well-documented problem. Try pushing the car 100 yds down the road (if you can get into it!) and try again.

hi, is it a Clifford concept 600, if so you should have a little pad somewhere with 2 buttons and a red light on it for you to pout in a 4 digit code ( if you have it) i hade the 600 in my escort cosworth and if i mind right when you change the battery i think you have to re-program it back in to the alarm, hop this helps

Have you parked there before without a problem?
If yes, have any radio mast/telephone masts been installed recently within visible range?

Try moving the car (by push/tow) to a different location and retry. The Sigma alarms on some imprezas are known to stop working in some areas due to radio interference, might be worth trying to move the car if its an immoboliser issue.

if it is a clifford, email me, i fit them and can tell you how to deactivate it for enough time to put your key in so the chip registers, as the other guys say it is probably a microwave dish that is affecting the keyfob...

when my sigma plays up due to radio interferance i normally find that trying to operate the key fob right next to the drivers side wing mirrior is about the only place where it will work.
