Sad departure of my WRX
I have just sold my WRX PPP after 23months and 53k miles.
It was very sad to see it go, but it was costing me dearly as I use it for business and 25mpg for 30k a year is silly!
Going diesel with a Mondeo TDCi 130 - has anyone else made the same transition? Will I be too disappointed - apart from the 50 to 60mpg?

Went from a modified 'classic' Impreza to a BMW330D and yes it is a let down.
Handling wise things aren't really that much worse apart from the wallow (non sport suspension) but what I really miss is the speed and traction of the Impreza.
I do however get great MPG and the BMw is a great place to do high mileages in.
Great, I'm now a fully paid up member of the sensible motoring squad- whoopy f****g doo.

Have just bought a Golf GT TDI 115 bhp. Only done just over 1000 miles in 12 days but Ive spent less than £70 in diesel compared to around £160 I'd have put into the P1. Still have the Impreza sat on the drive, but will be selling soon, as I havent wanted to drive it in over 2 weeks now.
Most turbo diesel engines are quite torquey and well suited for either town or motorway driving, think youll find that with your 130 bhp mondeo it will do just fine. Although obviously nowhere near the performance of an Impreza, I'm happy with its performance. One thing though, I find myself driving faster in a diesel than i do in the p1 especially on motorways. Whereas id have sat at around 80-85 mph in the impreza, Ill keep it at 85-90 in the Golf.
