Check all of your hoses. Turbo hose and intercooler hose...sounds like your losing boost pressure

Have you checked exhaust around the turbo....how sure are you that no hoses are leaking?

Most subaru garages can diagnose this pretty quickly....have you seen one?

yep exhaust checked fine.. went round all hoses with fine tooth comb..no damage all connected..

2 things i could think of..waste gate stuck open so dumping air away from turbo..OR

Turbo's Died..

for info the car was running bloody good a couple of days ago..

not seen one yet only found probs today..

Probably cold weather that was giving your car the horn

Take it to a scoob dealer or specialist...what may cost you £50.00 for diagnosis now could save you ££££'s later on

Im no technical expert myself so other than a pipe hanging off I am pretty stuck

Surely if the Turbo had died then there would have been alot of smoke..... and you would have known about it before it happened, possibly would have been whining alot before going pop.

I may have all that wrong, but I have never heard of a Turbo giving up without any prior signals.

Cheers,
Grant

If your MAF sensor has gave up the ghost it would have the same effect would it not? Also what mods have you done to your motor as you mentioned it wouldn't go above 1 bar as standard runs around .8 or .9 ( I could be wrong about this )

Nah.... I think he means 1psi when he says 1 pound of boost.

If it was boosting to 1bar, then there wouldnt be a huge problem!!! lol

Grant

Check your MAF.Some drivers here in Norway have had that problem with unoriginal air filters and (maybe) to much filter oil!

Try gentle acceleration and see if you can hear the turbo spool up around 3k, Or lift the bonnet and rev it. Even with the wastegate fully open I would have thought a certain level of boost would be generated. Is it possible the blades are stuck ??

Personally I wouldn't drive the car as you could be risking far more serious head/piston damage if its running badly or bits of turbo end up in the engine.

Just some thoughts but I could be talking rubbish.

Good luck
