Why do they pick on us?
The chavs.
This afternoon we were in bracknell, and accelerating down the sliproad we had a debadged VW polo with a loud exhaust stuck to our bumper.
[rant]
As soon as they see the spoiler and badge they immediately think your up for a race? What is up with these people? Why us?
Okay, maybe a fifth of the owners of scoobs are chavs, and that seems to suck us all in

Quite agree m8. Had this problem a lot when I had my scoobs. Always some little git trying to brass you off or wanting to play. Why I drive a BMW at the minute. Must admit I know I'll buy another scoob in the future.

huh, you think that's bad? Try owning an EVO VIII in gunmetal. I wince every time it's on TG. I get a bunch of complete ar$holes trying to race, overtake, cut me up. Drives me wild. Never got that in the P1.
Good job the VIII is such a better car!

Yeh, Maybe they want to make friends?
I think that may be the reason I'm happy rolling around in my Integrale much of the time. To the chavs it looks like a golf/polo and they definitely don't know that it has 260 horses if required...
Chris
Of course there is the other way of looking at it. These nice young people regard Scooby owners as Chavs and are simply trying to follow you to the nearest car park meet

Phelpsa,
Maybe a different approach is required. As soon as you see that they are up for a race or are stuck to your bumper you slow right down. They will then whizz past you safe in the knowledge that they have just done a Scooby.
You will continue your journey safe in the knowledge that your expensive car (relative to the cost of theirs) remains unscathed from the effects of a rear-ender (ooer missus).
Enjoy your driving.

So there is no one that posts on here that used to drive a baga****e car?
I can remember my younger days ( just ) when the ultimate used to be bragging about blowing away some sporty car with my beat up old mk1 escort. Times have changed, and now the youngsters drive airfix kitted saxos and the like and they are just out to try their luck with sportier cars.
With age comes wisdom.........how many bloody engines and gearboxes did I blow in the old escort?

I don't know what the problem is? I'm sure when all you lot were young, you did the same. It's a natural hormonal thing for teenagers to do. I don't really mind it as they are usually smiling and not trying to be an **** about it! I understand they can be a pain but what do you expect driving a scoob??
Anyway Merry Christmas to you all

... erm, 'you' didn't buy a Scooby for it's looks now did you ... ? and the real reason you bought it is because ... you're a fan of quick cars ... ergo, you're more than likely to have a go yourself - most of the people trying it on simply want to see a 'quick' car do its stuff ...
Otherwise, why the **** did you get it in the first place???
