auto spray is ECU trigered. When you press the button in it should have a light on it to say its armed. The ECU then trigers the spray when you start to produce boost. Nothing happens when you are just sat there.

the button has a light in it that should come on when pushed in.
It may have the wrong plug in the switch, there is a spare plug behind the dash sometimes that is used for front foglight feed, and it plugs into that switch too, some numptie could have swaped it by mistake.

I think you misunderstand me.
There is a plug behind the dash that should be in that auto switch, which goes to the relay to trigger the auto function. There is also anothe plug of a diferent colour that isnt connected to a switch, its just left loose, this plug is a feed for the front foglamp option. Its posible to swap these two plugs as they both fit the auto spray switch. It's posible when your rear foglamp was added for SVA with its new switch, the numptie doing that pluged the wrong plug into the Auto IC Spray switch which would stop it working. So have a look behind the panel and see if there is a spare connector, if there is swap it with the one in your auto IC switch and see if the light comes on when you press the switch in.
You need water in the IC bottle, as when the water level drops below the low level warning trigger point the auto IC function stops working and the light in the switch doesnt come on.
