The only way to guarantee you are getting exactly what you want, is to go and collect the item in person IMO

I've brought & sold loads on s/net, transfered money & been sent money with no problems. All the people I have dealt with are regulars and know on the bbs. Not a cast iron gaurentee (sp?) but it has worked so far for me.

As some one else said, can you meet & exchange? If not explain to him/her and try to arrange something else. Some carriers do cod I am sure, could he use this?

You could name him (or PM a name) I'm sure the regulars will tell you if there's been a problem with him.

Failing that look back at his posts through his user name and see if he's had a problem in the past.

A good thing to check is the number of posts someone has done. If they have posted lots of times then they are a regular on here and can be taken at face value. If not then treat with caution!
