Question Blitz NUR Spec R bung rattle

I've noticed the bung in my exhaust makes a terrible metallic rattle especially at low revs. I've made sure it is fitted securely but i notice there are some gaps around the edge where it meets the tail pipe. Has anyone else had similar problems with this kind of exhaust and if so, what can be done to sort it?

I thought of lagging it somehow but i'm not sure what to use.

cheers,

Graham

If you don't like the rattle from the bung, take it out

I enjoy driving without the bung but there are times when i need it in. I need to find a way of eliminating the rattle. Any suggestions?

Cheers

Can you get exhaust wrap (or something similar heat resistant) that'll fit around the bung?

I leave my bung in the garage. No rattle that way!

yeah i got some temp happy tape & put that round the bung i used to only put it in & take it out when i was coming outa garage to keep neighbours happy.....Which used to grind the tape eventually & have to replace it but hey it's only a couple of inches of tape a go so not an issue if you have a roll. Only other slight problem is that it's then a bit too thick & not so easy to adjust & line up so you can get the screw in but i guess it depends how thick & how much tape u use, if u get it in the spot which is actually vibrating then this wood overcome that i guess. Otherwis estops the cheap sounding tinny rattle a treat....

I like the sound of that tape, i'll try to get some. Any ideas of a good product for cleaning the exhaust and keeping it shiny?

cheers
