Don't know whether this will help - I hope so (from the Scaletrix FAQ)

Q. NEW SPORT AND OLD CLASSIC TRACK PIECES ARE COMPATIBLE.

A. ONE OF OUR MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS is in regard to the compatability of old (Classic) and new (Sport) track. Answers: Classic track connecting to Sport track. Classic and Sport compatible with the use of a converter straight, reference C8222. With a pair of these converters it is convenient to connect all your new style track to your old style track. This means that you can utilise the special track sections from both ranges in to whatever circuit design you are building. RMS gives you the ability to design your own circuits too! All Scalextric stockists should be aware of the converter piece C8222 and its usage. The stockists will also have been strongly encouraged to stock this converter section. The track piece is a low cost accessory. Rubber track connecting to Classic track: Rubber Scalextric track manufactured up to 1963 is compatible with Classic track with the use of a converter section available at the time. This means that ALL Scalextric track from 1959 to the present day can be used within the same layout. I hope this helps but please contact the Helpline (01843-233525) or email me adrian.norman@hornby.com Happy Racing, Adrian Norman Consumer Promotions Manager - Scalextric

And these are available from Scalextric shops and cost about £6 The brand new SCX track mates up perfectly to the old Scalextric track though

thats a great price for that set!

Also if you have old scalextric (known as "Classic") you can buy the new style lap counter. This comes in two sections and can be used to convert the new "Sport" track to classic.

If I didn't need any more track I would buy this. Just putting finishing touches to my 20m track in the loft

Got the Hot Pursuit (Scooby V Police car) for Christmas. The police car is great with siren and flashing lights! And great back end drifts from Scooby.

Also got 2003 (4?) WRC Scooby and something called an ...ego...Evo, thats it! Not as fast as the Impreza though but they look great.

Also got RMS...so laptop is plugged in and I canplay at being Dave Richards

it's great beeing 13 again

Just need track convertor too...going to try slotcity.co.uk

Reserved mine last night at 1.30 am, And picked it up today in Halifax. Sent the Girlfriend a text this morning explaining that it was for her little boys birthday present, To which she reminded me that it's in August, I think that she finds it all a bit

Oh wel i suppose they will need running in for the first 1000 miles

Default GOT MINE TODAY

Na Na, Na, Na Na, got mine today for sons birthday New Years Eve.
Had to stand in a queue to pay for it then 45 minutes waiting for Argos staff to find it and bring it to the counter.

Will provide review after 'we' have tried it out.

Default Sons birthday today.

At last, he is 10 !!
Little-G got his Scalextric Subaru Challenge today
Track connections are different to the 'classic' track.
New track is easier to put together and is very flat compared to the earlier stuff.
The headlight glasses all fell out, and during the first race 2 mirrors fell off.
The cars are very fast but not as challenging as earlier cars, they stick to the twisties better because they have strong magnets underneath to keep them on.
The good thing for the kids is that you don't have to keep putting them back on the track at every corner.
Anyone know of any mods available, full decat, new ECU, PPP ?
I wonder if you can get a Wagon version......
