Basingstoke to Alton ................... BRILLIANT!! (its now got speed limits and road calming measures, but still a blast if you get a clear run!)
Turn off the M3 at Basingstoke and take the A339 to Alton!

Youre mistaken; flat caps are compulsary, but you have a choice of pigeons or whippets...
On the plus side there is real beer and you can get gravy on yer chips!

And their's less speed cameras, less 40 & 50 limits on perfectly good A roads, less built up areas. How do you Scooby owners cope down there.
Moorland behind my house is great for a blast, 1 minute away, open and visible for miles but with great corners (and never a police man or a camera).
And all 3 hours from London (well it took me 2 hours 50 to get from Lancaster to Hemel Hempsted on Christmas eve )

Best roads I've found in my area are :
Down M23 to Pease pottage junction (2 miles after services)
Turn off then go left at the second rounabout and all roads are 60 limits, not to narrow or blind and you don't need to go over 60 to have fun
or in the other direction there are a number of good roads around the bluebell railway.

Try Baldock A507 and then across through Buntingford to B1038. Top roads and buggerrall on them............ Agree that Alton to Bas is excellent as well, but heavily policed due to the number of bike accidents. Bloke who worked for me in Bas lost his arm!
