Question TRIPLE P OR TRIPLE 3 ???

As above and apologies if this is old question but i was wondering if anyone has had the tsl 333 conversion done on their car in favour of the p.p.p, i know the claimed power output etc is a fair deal greater than p.p.p but does the car drive as well as a p.p.p. sti and is realiability a strongpoint, with the obvious loss of warranty when you dont use the "official" conversion this is the greatest concern, but i wondered if anyone here took the chance on ditching the warranty on a young car to go for what could be a better conversion. Any opinions greatly appreceiated.

thanks for the replys folks but im still a little unsure what to do, i have e-mailed tsl today to make contact and try and find a little more info on them, for the people that have had dealings with them, how were they to get along with etc. This may sound quite silly but i get on very well with the dealer that supplied and services the car and i have spoken to him about the p.p.p , they are obviously very happy to do the conversion and i wouldn`t like to jeprodise the relationship i have with them by now going elswhere( if that makes sense ), the car is a year old in March and probably by then will be due its 10k service, so the plan was to look at getting p.p.p at same time. I think in all honesty i am looking for someone to say get this one or that one because it is so much better if you get my drift. thanks again folks

333 you get quoted 10% more power and about £400 cheaper than PPP IIRC

If your Engine doesn't go pop in the remaining 2 years of warranty you'll have made the right decission, but remember an Engine rebuild could be £5K. SO enjoy PPP and happy worry free motoring for the next 2 years IMHO

Default PPP V 333

Tony is right about the warranty and piece of mind issues but the guys at TSL are professional and produce quality work.

They remapped my new import Spec C last year, much improving the car and its driveability. Since then its covered 15,000 miles with no hicups.

TSL are a very good company. They have done a good job of releaving me of wads of cash in the past. You may not receive a reply to your e-mail though, they are not good at e-mailing. I would suggest you give Gavin a ring to discuse your needs. 01159377200 will get him.
There are two downsides with 333.
If you have a problem in the first years ownership on your UK car with 333 the likelyhood is that the supplying dealer will tell you to ''do one'' unless its upholstery or somesuch totally non related area.
The second is that on trying to part exchange your car into a non subaru dealership the 333 package will not be recognised. This can result in a dealer NOT being able to take your car in Part ex as they are not able to provide a warranty on something not listed. You will be ok with non specialising dealers but not the big manufacturers.

It may well be that you dont use your warranty in the first 3 years. My old girl is nearly 2 years old and in fairness feels as good as it did on day one.
The part Ex thing can be a pain. It may seem irrelevant now but in a year or so time when you get the itch for a Monaro or M3 etc it may be a problem.

So in summary as I said earlier.
If you have a Euro car then 333 is an excellent way of getting bigger BHP and a better driving car than with PPP.
If I had a UK car then I would have PPP fitted and be happy with it.

Comments are in IMHO and from experience.

I agree with you both My Bais PPP view was due to Warranty and not because of Workmanship

I don't believe either PPP or 333 are any more harmfull the Engines life than the other If it were to catostrophic failure and go bang, it would have happened anyway but you'd only want it to happen with PPP on a UK car.

thanks again for all the advise guys, i have had an e-mail from gavin at tsl today and have replyed to him,he certainly seems to know his stuff and has said that they have done approx 250 cars and none have went bang to date, but you never know what will happen, i have told him i am going to contact my insurance and see what they quote me for both conversions but i think they will be about the same, i think it will be one of those ones when your gut feeling will decide for you. cheers boys
