Unhappy What are the chances... ???

of getting away....... Was doing a tad over 50mph in a 50mph zone, saw a mobile camera van as I overtook a truck and was a little too late slowing down........ I drive a import, am hoping my speedo is slightly off and hoping I was slower than what it was reading..........

Built in error is around 10% over read, so 55 on the clock more like 50. Dont know about speedo conversions on imports, but I'd have thought they need to be pretty accurate, depends on how your conversion to MPH was done I guess. Get a Road Angel or similar and you'll always know what your true speed is.

I'm afraid my import (MY95) has a very accurate speedo. I have recently bought a GPS cyclops and doing 80 on the clock is 78 on the gps. Think 50 is 49.

The police should'nt bother with a fine unless you were doing 55+.

It was a BRIGHT YELLOW van........ with BIG stickers all over it.... was overtaking a big yellow truck around a RH bend and was making sure it didn't drift into my lane as cars ususally do at that stretch of road, as I just went past, I saw the van sat there in plain sight on the outside of the corner.... Have been driving that stretch of road for the last 3 years and this is the first time I've seen it there (i hope, anyway !!)
