Hi guys, I've just bought a Magnex Oval back box for my scooby, had it fitted about 2 days ago and have noticed some orange rusty coloured stains around the edge of the tips. Phoned the place where i bought it they told me this often occurs when the car is run and is due to the gases from the exhaust and can be cleaned of using Autosol. Happens only when it rains though when the water gathers, however i used Autosol and it came of. however is this common? any info would be appreciated.

Yep its probably a bit of damp thats got in the box during storage,I should'nt worry

 

Hijacking your thread a bit but what do you think of the Magnex? I want to replace the standard pea shooters on mine with something thats sounds better but not too loud. To start with

Are you using Octane Booster ?

That often leaves a similar stain

 

The clinic fitted my magnex, had to be a bit of a custom jobbie as my car isn't a turbo or sport, very very happy with it tho certainly cheers the rear end up a bit! (the cars, not mine ) and of course, the usual great service

Been on the car for about 6 weeks now but I haven't noticed any rust patches as of yet.
