Question De-Chroming

Could someone give me some advice on the best way, method and kit required to remove the chrome Subaru lettering from the boot,

i used a hairdryer to heat them up and then used a very sharp knife to get behind them then just peeled them off, and used sticky stuff remover to get rid of the cack afterwords!
