Exclamation ****** LAMCO HELP ********

Ok i have managed to get hold of the subaru sti 3 gauge set of lamco gauges

Volts no problem

Boost no problem

Temperature Guage that reads from -20 degrees to + 50 degrees and has no sender unit?

1 is this for intake temp's? as im sure oil and water will be much hotter .

2 where do i get the sender unit? done a search on the net and nothing doing.

-20 to +50 would not cover water or oil temps.

Best guess would be intake temp as you say.

As for a sender. How many terminals on the back of the gauge ?

2 would be typical. 1 terminal would be power, the second would likely to be from the sender unit. Sender unit is probably a simple resistor circuit where the resistance varys with temperature, and hence the voltage drop varies and hence the gauge will read differently. If you have some wires and a variable resitor you can check if the gauge works in this way.

If so, a generic sender form somewhere like here might do the trick ? I've always found them to be helpful they may be able to offer you some help.
