I'm changing my turbo sometime soon (td04) and have the opportunity to get my hands on a vf24 for a good price even though i was looking for a td05.
I'm wanting to take my scoob over 300bhp.It's about 270/280bhp at the moment as estimated by Andy F after my re-map.Dont think i can squeez much more out of the td04.So any advice would be much appreciated on this matter.

Was in the same situation you was in about 6 months ago with my MY00, I wanted to get a TD05 turbo but was offered a VF23 for a good price and all I wanted was around 300bhp, so went for the VF23, your best bet would be to see what the spool up would be like on the turbo's and then decide which one you want.

Also when your finished with your TD04, pop it on e-bay, I got £170 for my turbo.

 

vf35 seems to be the turbo of choice these days

 

Was told that by Richard at TSL when he mapped my car, he said that it was a really good turbo.

How much bhp could you get out of the VF35 and is this the turbo they use on the new JDM cars.

A pal has rang me and said if it's for a good price then stick with the vf24.And it's a front entry were as the td05 isnt.All i want is to get over 300bhp.I'm lead to believe that the 24 spools up alot quicker than the 05.

 

well over 300bhp but depends what else you have. vf35 is used on later scoob iirc.

 

Richard mapped mine as well with my standard vf29 and its running 255bhp @ the wheels, about 320-330bhp at the fly.
