Hi, if your talking about the difference between the Uk And JDM spec 22B's some of the differences are rear fog light, fuel filter, mph speedometer, longer final drive ratio 4.444:1(JDM) 3.900:1 (Uk), de-restricted, uk spec 99 headlamps, spots, uk spec rear lights (orange lower part), different badges and mats etc... i personally reckon imports will be cheaper, there were 408 Jdm made and only 20 odd (i think) uk versions...

Cheers.Does this mean that there would be any difference in performance.I guess because there is not so many uk models then the asking price could be more.

i dont know for sure in performace differences, however i very much doubt there would be any difference, apart from the Uk is de-limited and the longer drive ratio....

There were 16 22B Type UK's made.

They have diferent spring/damper rates, longer final drive ratio which lowers the acceleration but is more suitable for motorway cruising. They have MY99 front/rear UK lights with adjustable beam at the front. The dash centre console has a raised surround for UK type aproval, the headlamp adjust is in the centre console. They came with a set of one off floor mats with TypeUK embossed in them. They dont have a number plaque in the centre console (none are numbered unlike the JDM 22B) but they do have the backing plate for a plaque. They have a one off rear badge. They have a restrictor in the filler pipe for unleaded fuel only, they come with front driving lights with a switch on the right of the dash next to the IC spray switch.

UK 22b's also have "Subaru" across the back in the usual UK silver letters.

The UK cars are rarer than the Japanese imports though all are rare really. A UK car will have slightly slower acceleration than a UK car but a higher top speed (and at lower rpm) due to the differant gearing.

I hope it makes sense but I have been at the beers!

none of them are numbered so #13 doesnt come into it.

What gives it away? JDM rear lights, MY98 front lights, JDM centre console with no raised binacle or headlamp adjuster present, no switch in the dash for the driving lights, number plaque present on the centre console.

It's quite strange the fact that upon running a PNC it comes back as IMPREZA 22B-STI TYPE UK.

So either when it was imported it was registered with those details or it really is a UK car.

???

If you ring IM (Subaru) with the chassis number , they'll tell you wether it's a UK or not.
Cheers

Spot light covers are stock on the 22B, if you mean the surounds for the driving lamps under the spotlamp covers they came as part of the light kit and cant be seen when the stock covers are used.
